DRRN Welcomes Program Assistant Mahtab (Mia) Ebadati!

September 16, 2024
We are thrilled to welcome the newest staff member of the UBC Disaster Resilience Research Network. Mia Ebadati is a Master's student in the Civil Engineering Department at UBC and will be working with the network as a program assistant during the 2024-2025 academic year.

In Mia’s own words: "Hi, I’m Mia, and I’m originally from Iran. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Civil Engineering with a focus on Project and Construction Management at UBC. I’m thrilled to join the DRRN team and excited about the opportunity to contribute to such important work. Outside of my studies, I’m passionate about staying active—I love running, hiking, and playing basketball. I also enjoy reading, especially when I can spend time outdoors surrounded by nature!"

Mia’s decision to join DRRN as a Program Assistant reflects her commitment to supporting the network’s mission of advancing transdisciplinary and inclusive disaster research. Her strong organizational skills and professional background will be invaluable in supporting our programming this year, as she assists with event coordination, communications, and administrative support.

We are excited to work with Mia and are confident that her energy, efficiency, and dedication will greatly enhance our team’s efforts in growing and promoting the DRRN.

Welcome to the team, Mia!
