DRRN recently hosted two online discussion sessions in response to the federal government’s request for feedback on strengthening support for emergency management across Canada.
To ensure that the perspectives of our network members were represented, DRRN invited participants to join one of two virtual sessions held on:
- Wednesday, February 11, 12:00–1:00pm
- Tuesday, February 24, 3:00–4:00pm
These conversations were guided by the key questions posed by Public Safety Canada as part of its national consultation on enhancing federal leadership in emergency management. Details about the consultation can be found here.

Outcome
During the sessions, participants shared insights, challenges, and recommendations related to emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience. DRRN compiled the feedback gathered from both discussions, along with written contributions, and submitted a consolidated response to Public Safety Canada.
We extend our thanks to all members who contributed their time and expertise. Your input plays an important role in shaping national approaches to emergency management and ensuring that community‑level perspectives are heard.
